Tambua Sands and Robinson Crusoe

Last Monday we went to Tambua Sands Beach Resort. We stayed there for two nights in total.

On the Tuesday we were taken by bus to the Robinson Crusoe Island jetty where we caught a barge down the river to the island a little off coast. We were greeted rather menacingly by two rather crazy cannibals throwing things at us.
When we got ashore the staff were singing a welcoming song to us as we got off the boats. We got photos with the cannabals and were told the things we were going to be doing.
Paige, Dad and I were taken to the reef to go snorkling and we saw a whole lot of different fish. When we got back we saw one of the men climb a coconut tree in a matter of seconds and start throwing the coconuts down. They cut the tops off of them and then we drank the juice.
They dug up the lovo and did fire walking, (on hot rocks) then we had lunch while we were entertained with dancing. Because it was Mum and Dads anniversary they got to sit right up the front for one of the dances. The last dance was one with double ended torches and they were spinning them around and putting their hands and feet on the flame.
Dad, Paige and I went in the water park for a bit. The water park had giant inflatable things in the ocean and a zorb. We climbed up the climbing thing and jumped off. We had a crab race and I won beating all the Aussies and came first and got a shell necklace plus flowers. We had a farewell song and then caught the barge back to the jetty and then got the bus back to Tambua Sands.

Miss you guys lots cant wait to get back home to you guys please leave your comments and please pray that we will make it out of here before the next coup as there have been elections here in Fiji. Well  bye for now.

First few weeks

Suva
In Suva I see old bland lifeless buildings. there are old patchy roads with frequent potholes and run down unlevel side walks to go along with them. The hustle and bustle of so many people becomes overwhelming and adds to the boiling heat of the day.

There are flash malls and old shops, shops for tourists and shops for everyday needs. Ill kept motels and then flash well kept lovely hotels. A polluted ocean and old dead boats leaning on one another on the dark murky waters.

There are fumes in the air from the old rickety buses and taxis, and litter on the ground. The litter is sometimes picked up, but is also dumped in the ocean.

There are some sweet smells, like the food coming from the food courts and some bad smells from the fumes of the cars and the fish market with its pungent odour of dead fish. This is Suva. I hope you enjoy this city.

Hi guys enjoying the sun wish you were here. Been really good miss you lots and please leave a comment, would love the feedback thanks I will keep you updated, bye.

We have arrived!

Bula
We are now back in Fiji! It’s like we never left. There are a few new sights and a lot of old sights like the mall, taxis, buses and the people. The people are the same with all that hustle and bustle. When we arrived we were taken to the home that we are now staying in.  It is down the road from the house we stayed in last year. We have a nice flash house with a T.V.! We haven’t had that in the previous years.
The Hibiscus Festival is on and that makes it extra busy. At the festival Dad, Paige and I went on the merry mixer and I kept squishing Paige and Dad. Paige and I were able to get one thing each and I decided to get a giant candy floss on a stick while Paige got a double scoop ice-cream.
It’s been really hot here and we have gone for a few swims at the Holiday Inn hotel. Mum buys herself an ice-coffee there and we get a free swim in their pool.

Miss you all can’t wait to get a reply, bye.
